He probably felt like crap the next day.
Wonder where he got this intoxicated. IF it was a bar I would revoke the establishments license asap.

In Rhode Island, they give awards for such feats.

He was put in detox & sedated?! That seems like overkill.

Just more proof the breathalyzer is inaccurate. I’m sure a bloop test would reveal he was only .3

Is that defined as stupid or stupored?

When someone is this intoxicated, if they are not sedated when put into detox, the can end up with serious withdrawl complications – and at this level, they withdrawl complications could be risky enough to be fatal in their own right.

Safer course of care in this incident is to sedate them, where you take over vital control of the body (such as putting them on a ventillator) to breathe for them so they don’t “lose” the will to breathe.

    Scary on many fronts.

I have a headache just thinking about drinking that much alcohol. What color do your eyes get after red from that much booze?

The color after red would be called “pickle”.

I hit .411 once. NO big deal for a professional alcoholic. I do not recommend for amateurs. Kids, DO NOT try this at home or outside a detox facility.

Kidding, this guy is a seizure waiting to happen.

I think a lawyer would not do him much good.

For all the clowns here today, -and none of you have made anyone laugh..I’m surprised that no one has ever said, ” you drive drunk & kill my kin, & I’ll KILL you !”
    Well, not until now.

    To “Darwin”
Sorry to disappoint you, but the only “award” they give in RI for that is jail.
Thank God it was a one-car accident. Happened right across Rt 95 from the Providence Police Station.

Why don’t you just change your name to pro drunk driving? What does this article have to do with MADD?

    .491 isn’t a BAC level, it’s a batting average.

Who was that senator that proposed a safe haven time of night for drunk drivers? Like, after 3 am you could drive drunk with no penalty.

What’s a bloop test? Did they put him in a bathtub and wait for him to go “bloop”?

Someone was typing drunk. I mean, p and d are nowhere near one another on the keyboard, so it can’t be a typo.

I think he got off way to easy. I would take the license away for 3-5 years. Take his car away and sell it (proceeds to MADD). He should be on probation for 3 years, submit to regular drug/alcohol urine test and complete a 60 day rehab program with 365 AA meetings within 1 year.
