With just three weeks until Democrats choose their nominee for insurance commissioner, one of the three candidates vying for the nomination has formally launched her campaign.
Karen Weldin Stewart made her campaign announcement in all three counties on Monday, though only one supporter showed up when she spoke in Dover.
She promised to push for legislation that would prohibit insurance company executives and insurance company PACs from contributing to the insurance commissioner candidates.
Weldin Stewart, Gene Reed and Thomas Savage are the candidates running in the primary. Incumbent Matt Denn is running for lieutenant governor.
