York, Pennsylvania-based insurance broker Glatfelter Insurance Group has acquired Professional Underwriters Co. of Exton, Pa. for an undisclosed sum.
Glatfelter is one of the largest insurance brokerages in the country; Professional Underwriters is a national program administrator for public entities.
In connection with the acquisition, John Solari will be promoted to executive vice president and chief underwriting officer of Glatfelter’s Public Practice division, and along with his team, will continue to operate out of Exton, Pa.
Commenting on the deal, Professional Underwiters’ CEO, William Kronenberg III, said he was “pleased to see Professional Underwriters become a part of the highly-respected Glatfelter Insurance Group. The acquisition of Professional Underwriters by Glatfelter represents an excellent strategic and cultural fit and will strengthen the mutual commitment and capacity to serve the public entity sector.”
Anthony P. Campisi, president and CEO of Glatfelter Insurance Group, added “Professional Underwriters and Glatfelter share a long history and commitment to serving the insurance and risk management needs of public entities.”
