Western New York Highway Workers Hurt in Collision

Several county highway workers are being treated for injuries after their vehicle was struck by a car while they painted a center line on a road in suburban Rochester, New York.

Police in the town of Irondequoit say the Monroe County transportation department crew was working from a pickup truck when it was hit from behind by a car around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials say at least one of the workers suffered serious injuries.

Several people in the car were also hurt. All were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. Information on their conditions wasn’t immediately available.

The crash is under investigation.
