New York-based insurance brokerage and risk management firm Integro has hired Robert H. Easton as deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer
Easton who will join Integro on April 19, most recently served as deputy superintendent and general counsel for the New York State Department of Insurance. Previously, he served as deputy solicitor general of the New York State Department of Law.
As chief legal officer of the insurance department, Easton worked to protect policyholders while also taking into account the impact of the agency’s actions on the insurance marketplace. He developed and reviewed all regulatory initiatives and legal opinions issued by the agency, and oversaw all litigation brought against the department. He presided over the promulgation of landmark rules governing brokers’ disclosure to consumers of compensation received in insurance transactions.
Prior to entering the public sector, Easton was a commercial litigator at Sidley & Austin in New York.
