Woodbury, N.Y.-based Sterling & Sterling appointed industry veteran Leslie Nylund as president of the insurance brokerage.
Nylund will be responsible for the firm’s operations, including sales, employee benefits, client services and senior carrier relationships. She will also oversee field offices in New Jersey,Connecticut, Florida , Utah and California. She will report to CEO David Sterling.

Previously, Nylund served as vice chair of Sterling & Sterling. She came to Sterling & Sterling from Willis where she served in a number of leadership roles including Willis North America’s New York Metro region head. She also spent 18 years at Marsh as a managing director.
Sterling & Sterling is one of the largest insurance brokerages in the New York metro area, with more than 170 employees and premiums topping $300 million. The firm offers services in: property/casualty insurance; employee benefits consulting; risk management; loss control; claims management; estate planning; and business succession planning.
