AG Coakley Says High Court Case Would Not Affect Massachusetts Law

    I knew it, Massachusetts law trumps Federal rulings and the US Constitution. I wish this article had explored Martha’s logic rather than just reporting on what she said.

      the simple reason for this is that the US constitution restricts the FEDERAL government from doing some things that states ARE allowed to do. So, it might be unconstitiutional for the feds to require people to buy insurance and use the regulation of commerce between the states as the reason. That does not mean that a state cannot decide to require its own residents to buy insurance.

      A bit more attention to the real federal constitution and a bit less on ironic non-sequiturs may be in order.
