State officials have launched public awareness campaign about motorcycle safety.
The Respect Your Ride campaign includes traffic law enforcement and awareness activities by police departments throughout Delaware. It runs through September.
Police will conduct patrols on roads with a high number of motorcycle crashes, focusing on speeding and impaired motorcyclists.

The campaign also includes billboards, bumper stickers and radio and online ads focusing on motorcycle safety and encouraging drivers to share the road with motorcyclists.
A highlight of the campaign will be an April 28 Motorcycle Awareness Day in Dover.
State officials note that there were 18 motorcycle fatalities in Delaware last year, compared to eight the year before.
