This news seems to be totally contradictory to All State’s current policy. They are engaged in litigation with many of their long-time local agents, across. They have forced these agents out of businees and have offered an insulting paltry amount for those books of business. One former agent has committed suicide. Those “confiscated” books are being re-distributed to new “super” regional agencies. All State has developed a new business model wherein they have decided to cost premiums at the expenxe of agent commission. No longer is the “good hands” local agent available to assist the insured. They are directed to a call center usually staffed by people ignorant of sound insurance principles and procedures. In my state, the company is reducing their PIP department and out sourcing those claims to a vendor. Having audited claims wherein that vendor has been involved, I was shocked at the inflated medical costs they have allowed.

That’s some progress. The bean counters should be selling shoes. I have nor had any affiliation with All State

If I were an entrepreneur I’d be very wary of Allstate. They have chosen to be uncompetitive here in NYS and are a pain in the ass to deal with from a service and underwriting point of view; I think they lack stability and now, more than ever, it’s important to be independent with multiple carriers represented.

I parted ways with big blue after 17 months. They really hassle new clients with homeowners and try to force bundling. They want you to sell uncompetitive life and have a wicked one way contract. Stay clear.

I looked into All State and my town of about 30,000 people doesnt have an All State agency. After talking to many current all state agents i see why! I currently work for Indiana Farm Bureau which treats their agents very well! So sad to hear about what all state is doing to its tenured agent force.
