First American Insurance Underwriters, Inc., a Needham, Mass.-based wholesale life insurance, annuity, long-term care and disability income firm, announced two officer appointments.

The firm also named David Tyrrell as a brokerage manager. In his new role, he will assist producers and their clients with case design and implementation. Before coming to First American, Tyrrell was sales vice president of the Boston-based Smith Companies. Previously, he served as a regional account manager for Lincoln Financial Group.
Founded in 1981, First American Insurance Underwriters represents more than 40 insurance companies and is licensed in all 50 states. It supports life insurance agents with educational programs, coaching, and life insurance, long-term-care, disability and annuity products.
