The MEMIC Group, a workers’ compensation insurer headquartered in Portland, Maine, has promoted Kelly Barden to the new position of communications production manager.

Barden has worked for the company for 14 years, starting her career as an intern through Southern Maine Community College’s Maine Career Advantage initiative. After a year as an intern, she was hired full-time as a communications assistant and was later promoted to communications specialist.
She has served on the board of the Maine Public Relations Council since 2007 and is currently the chair of the communications committee. She is also a member of the communications committee of the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds (AASCIF).
Specializing in workers’ compensation insurance, The MEMIC Group includes Maine Employers’ Mutual Insurance Company (MEMIC), MEMIC Indemnity Company and MEMIC Casualty Company. The company insures nearly 20,000 employers across the northeast and has offices in New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, New York and now Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
