Howden Specialty Underwriters (HSU), part of Hyperion Insurance Group, has appointed Scott Misson to lead its recently opened New York office. He will become a member of the executive team and will report to Bobby Vernon, CEO of the group’s North and Latin American underwriting operations.
Misson joins HSU from Navigators Management Company, where he was president of Navigators Pro Division. During his tenure, he oversaw the global underwriting practices in the professional liability space and was responsible for a team of underwriters in eight global locations with over $100 Million in premium.
Misson has an extensive background in management and professional liability products and has built and led teams both domestically and abroad. He has been in the management and professional liability insurance and reinsurance market for more than 20 years.
Howden Specialty Underwriters is a managing general agency focused on the specialty liability insurance market in the U.S. The company specializes in directors & officers (D&O), employment practices, crime, fiduciary, and professional liability insurance products.
