Aspen US Insurance has appointed Richard Aldorisio as executive vice president of casualty insurance. He will be based in New York City.
In his new role, Aldorisio will head the casualty insurance unit, which now includes excess and primary casualty. He will report to Aspen Insurance division CEO Mario Vitale.
Aldorisio has over 30 years of underwriting and management experience and was most recently at Markel Corporation where he was the managing director of casualty insurance. He joined Markel in 2005 and held a number of management positions. Prior to that, he held roles at Argonaut Specialty, CNA, CHUBB, Crum & Forster and Greater New York Mutual.
Aspen US writes property, casualty and specialty insurance in the U.S. on both a surplus lines and admitted basis through Aspen Specialty Insurance Company and Aspen American Insurance Company.
Aspen US is part of Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited, a provider of reinsurance and insurance coverage in various domestic and global markets through subsidiaries and offices in Bermuda, France, Germany, Ireland, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
