When Bush lied about Hussein and the Weapons of Mass Destruction, where was your hue and cry? We lost honest, hard working soldiers whose families are impacted for life. This was the conclusion of numerous bipartisan government investigations, including those by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (2004 and 2006), the 9/11 Commission, and the multinational Iraq Survey Group, whose “Duelfer Report” established that Saddam Hussein had terminated Iraq’s nuclear program in 1991 and made little effort to restart it.
In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003. Not surprisingly, the officials with the most opportunities to make speeches, grant media interviews, and otherwise frame the public debate also made the most false statements, according to this first-ever analysis of the entire body of prewar rhetoric.
President Bush, for example, made 232 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and another 28 false statements about Iraq’s links to Al Qaeda. Secretary of State Powell had the second-highest total in the two-year period, with 244 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 10 about Iraq’s links to Al Qaeda. Rumsfeld and Fleischer each made 109 false statements, followed by Wolfowitz (with 85), Rice (with 56), Cheney (with 48), and McClellan (with 14).
At least Obama’s lies did not result in an unnecessary war and thousands of lives lost.

I am normally pretty supportive of you when others gang up, but to compare bad information to Bush to bad information to President O was still a “buck stops here” issue for both. To say it was OK to be less than honest with citizens of the country because this wasn’t as bad of a lie as the prior president is still not acceptable.

Bob, let’s not forget that Saddam also had a lengthy war with Iran back in the day. Iran was poised to overrun Iraq, so he unleashed chemical weapons on them as well. That is the only way he survived that war. The wonderful UN passed seventeen resolutions demanding inspections and condemning him and all the world intelligence agencies agreed with GW and they formed a coalition to go in and clean it out. However, the process took too long to bring about and gave him plenty of time to move them out to Syria who got them and used them on their people. Does anyone believe that Syria & Russia has dismantled these weapons even though Obama’s red line was trampled on repeatedly?

Living in the past and saying the current issues are ok due because someone else screwed up previously when they are unrelated is unacceptable! Focus on the future. Are we headed to a positive future? Key indicators include reduced debt, increased GNP, etc. Seems we have increasing govt debt and lower GNP. What hope does BO bring with his Hope and Change message?
Now all that remains to be done is to Impeach him for serial lying to the American People. Let that approval rating continue to plummet as it has in recent weeks and the stage may be set if there is any backbone in the House.

While Dubs was playing his version of Call of Duty, his wars were financed by the First Bank of Murrica credit card only we used stated income to apply for our line of credit and because he said “trust me, I’m from Texas and we do this all the time” no one seemed to feel the need to verify. This like all maxed out revolving debt accrues interest exponentially is what causes one to go bankrupt. Throw in the Bush tax decreases and we now have a negative cash flow. Billions turned to trillions with the interest due and will keep piling up. All those Dubya supporters took out an interest only ARM and just like that, your balloon payment is due. Time to pay in full or move out! Amazing how fast time goes and amazing how something that seemed so right at the time was actually so wrong. That isn’t cool whip on your lips.

Realist, these brave men who have been protecting this country are now having their pension benefits cut by the new budget deal including our wounded war veterans. Way to show appreciation Congress! With all the waste and corruption in government spending, how about trimming all those departments, agencies and worthless programs back and leave our soldiers alone.
A few simple fixes for that. 1 – Stop entering in offensive wars. We don’t do so well statistically in these types of wars and you would think the great financiers of this nation would pay attention to these types of facts. 2 – Pay your MF’ing taxes. Being a part of Team ‘Murrica isn’t free so if you are beholden to a high and tight hair cut and camo gear, you need to do more than wear a flag pin that we will have funding for these types of needs. 3 – The military is not a job program so we need to stop sending the bottom half of every high school class to war. The wealthy don’t have to serve on the front lines, but those that do serve always go to Germany, Japan, or one of the other countless nations we still occupy. Bring back the Job Corps and give these human beings skills they will be actually be able to use like rebuilding the United States and Texas. The people in South Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia assisted the US Government and many a US soldier. In fact many of these people had jobs working with the US while in Vietnam, laos etc. They were not all sex slaves you idiot. For example the Hmong people in Laos fought against invading military forces from North Vietnam and insurgents. Hmong people were persecuted and executed for helping the US by the Vietnamese Army, when they took over the Laotian government in 1975, with the support of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Hundreds of thousands of Hmong refugees had to flee the country or die. Thousands of them resettled in western countries mostly since the late 1970s and mostly in the United States, Canada, Australia and I think France.

Bush really didn’t need much evidence to go to war. The thought of WMD in Iraq provided a neat excuse for Bush to take action in Iraq to make up for Bush’s inaction in not taking any precautions after he was warned that Bin Laden intended to strike inside the U.S. .
The fact it was an oil rich country and he was a Texas oilman was just a bonus for he and his chums who profited beyond all expectations.
If Bush’s inaction was bad, then democrats wanting to pull out before being finished in Iraq was equal.
If Clinton’s action was ok, then Iraq was a threat, regardless of WMD’s, that needed to be taken out.

Billions turned to trillions with the interest due and will keep piling up. All those Dubya supporters took out an interest only ARM and just like that, your balloon payment is due. The fact it was an oil rich country and he was a Texas oilman was just a bonus for he and his chums who profited beyond all expectations.
If Bush’s inaction was bad, then democrats wanting to pull out before being finished in Iraq was equal.
If Clinton’s action was ok, then Iraq was a threat, regardless of WMD’s, that needed to be taken out.
