State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. says last weekend’s snowstorm that dropped as much as 17 inches of snow in parts of the Northeast didn’t have much of an impact in terms of claims activities in the area.
“We did not have anything out of the usual to report regarding claims over the past weekend,” said Arlene Lester, a spokesperson for State Farm, the largest U.S. home and auto insurer. “We are always keeping our eyes on the storms so that we can be prepared to assist our policyholders recover quickly.”
“Thankfully, there is not much to report with this round of storms,” the State Farm spokesperson said.
In New York State, snowfall totals from the past weekend ranged from 8 inches in western and central parts of the state to 14 inches in parts of Albany, according to the National Weather Service. Some parts in Maine and New Hampshire got more than a foot of snow.
More snow are expected in the Northeast this week. The National Weather Service is forecasting 2-4 inches of snow Tuesday into Wednesday for New York City and Boston. Some parts in Maine could get up to 9 inches of snow.
“Our claim staff is readily available to assist our policyholders on a regular day or during catastrophe. Our goal is to help them recover from the unexpected as quickly as possible in all situations,” the State Farm spokesperson said.
