76,000 eh? That’s out of a population of 12,773,801 according to the latest census. That is exactly 1% of the population.

So, in order to add 1% of the population of the state of Pennsylvania to a government subsidized healthcare system we kicked out 10 times that number and forced everybody else to pay dramatically more. You have to be a Democrat to think that math makes sense.

If it weren’t so real, it would be a bad joke.

            Bada – moron.

You need to learn to read.

What I loved was when you said you saw all the same things I see on the news…

When I post Italian studies. I want to know who you saw on TV that posted the study on cancer cases and obesity in Italy, and then took the WHO’s third world country occurrence rates of cancer, showing them lower than developed nations, and then showed that our survival rates are the highest of nearly all catastrophic care.

Then put them all together to show that our mortality is linked to higher occurrence rates of catastrophic heart attack, and cancer, linked to obesity and diet, and that thusly, our superior outcome rate shows our better system, and our worse mortality rate, shows our worse living styles.

I just want to see the link or the video showing the people who have said that.

You said I just parrot the same old. Show me.

I already showed you studies that indirectly proved that our our outcomes of treatment and survival rates are the best in the world, and that our diet is the cause for our higher occurrence rate.

Our high occurrence rate cannot be solved by single payer, and each developed nation with high obesity rates has higher occurrence rates than 3rd world countries. This showed that it was solely diet.

Therefore: Comparing two country styles, and seeing that single payer systems have worse outcomes, proves the system doesn’t work. In all cancers totaled we were significantly better on outcomes. In every area we were better.

You need to learn to read the studies I post. You dismissed it saying maybe it was all that preventative care…In a third world country, and skipped over my Italian study on how many cases of cancer were thought to from obesity. In men it was 20% in women, who were post menopause, it was about 50%.

Learn to read the studies I post. They prove our system is the best in the world, and single payer would not result in better healthcare outcomes. It might cause better occurrence rates as people start to realize they will die if they get too fat, but that’s about it.

Figures lie and Liars figure. How long before we hear that these numbers are exaggerated? If you notice, the article states that Obama said over 2MM have enrolled. That does not necessarily mean that they actually purchased the coverage. Obama likes to walk the fine line of truth and tells us things that might sound like one thing but actually means another. I wonder how he defines the term “enrolled”.

I worked with a young single mother a few years back who could not afford to contribute to our company’s health insurance plan. She was making about $13,000 a year and I think the employee contribution at the time was about $200 a month for a family. She had a teenaged son, newly diagnosed with a mild form of mental illness, who had no insurance either as he did not qualify for CHIPS at the time. This woman seethed with rage at work, consumed with worry about not having the resources to pay for medical care for herself and her son. She is an example of a person who will benefit from the new health care options.

The salary was $13,000 a year. It was a receptionist/policy typist position. I helped to interview the person, so I remember what we were paying. The monthly contribution was between $180 and $200 a month, cannot remember exactly. But it was more than she could afford. Actually I think the year was about 1996 – more than a few years back. Same thing happened with the woman who replaced her, she couldn’t afford the insurance either. She had a procedure done in a doctor’s office that normally required a hospital stay.

Medicaid was originally designed for these situations. Additional controls should have been put in place to not bankrupt it, instead of turning the existing system upside down.

Obamacare is ruining a system that mostly worked for the majority (85%) of the population. Other changes could have been done to reduce the number of those without insurance and improve the few areas of the previous system.

Eliminating the care for illegal aliens (or charging back to their home country while deporting) would save BILLIONS!

Sounds like the employer is to blame. Won’t keep people full time so benefits do not need to be paid. I think the conservative response would be for a dissatisfied employee to go look for a job somewhere else or get another part time job if the pay isn’t good enough with the 1 job. Find a better deal. Go back to school and get more education so a better job could be sought. C’mon, pull yourself up by those bootstraps. And, when worse goes to worst, just boil and eat those bootstraps. Whatever you do, don’t come looking to me for any help. I believe in Supply Side Jesus Christian principles. What would Supply Side Jesus do? That seems to be the conservative credence.

What we need to do is to remove the tie of health benefits to employement. People are settling for jobs or staying in jobs they hate just because of that benefit. Kind of kills that American spirit of being whatever it is you set your mind to because you can’t be whatever you want to be if you get sick and don’t have healthcare. The healthcare employee benefit has been a large part of the growing healthcare problems in this country. Time to go single payer! Here to help, planetary stewardship and American solutions. Oh, and I also call out the current conservative BS. I stress current. What happened to the Goldwater conservatives?

Planet, Obama and the Dums made the law. The employers are simply following the law. You don’t realize that is all part of the Masters Plan. The Govt Master want the people to be enslaved to the govt programs. If this wasn’t intentional, then it shows how incompetent they are. Don’t blame the employer for taking action for their own survival.

Also, employer offered health insurance is a benefit. Most employers pay a large percentage of that benefit.

Also, there are COBRA laws in effect that people can use to keep the same insurance. Obviously at a higher cost, because it is not subsidized by the employer. This is an area that could/should be addressed. If the employee elects to keep their insurance via COBRA, the new employer should be required to participate at the same level they provide for their others employees for the health care afforded to them.

If employers would drop health insurance, raise salaries and make everyone responsible for their own health insurance, you wouldn’t need COBRA.

I don’t agree in the mandated coverage portion of the ACA. I think carriers should be required to offer a plan with all the bells and whistles (at an affordable price) but people should be able to buy whatever coverage they want or can afford.

That’s not what the article says. It said 1 out of 7 was in the NCIC database, but did not mean they had actually committed or been found guilty of committing a crime.

Not to mention, NM is doing what you conservatives have been screaming about for so long – a background check. They are disqualifying those guilty of significant financial crimes and child abuse. It is nice going.

Yes, it is nice going. Gee, I wonder why the Obama administration didn’t have that step in their hiring of these employees. Oh, that’s right; they didn’t even have their security portion developed on their own website before the roll out date much less anything else for that matter. And, gee, if your identity gets stolen, don’t go crying to them. There’s that little clause in the fine print someplace that makes the government not liable. Oh, BTW, yes those folks did have criminal charges. “The crimes committed by navigators whose names are showing up in the crime databases range from domestic violence to aggravated battery, and aggravated assault, drug charges and child abuse to name a few.”

        http://pumabydesign001.com/2014/01/17/one-in-seven-new-mexico-certified-obamacare-navigators-are-in-fbi-database/

Ms. AA – The first article you linked included this:

“For other navigator applicants who trigger NCIC hits, three OSI experts then review the results, assessing on a case-by-case basis whether a navigator should receive certification. For example, a 20-year-old shoplifting conviction for an otherwise upstanding citizen might not be disqualifying, while a recent fraud charge could be.”

So, in essence, you don’t think ANY person who has been accused/convicted of a crime can become an honest citizen. Well, I may not think EVERY criminal can be rehabilitated, but surely SOME can.

FFA, I’d be happier than a clam if I were making that much money. Let me know when you’re hiring.

Hey, Always. Maybe you didn’t know but the ACA leaves the guidelines for navigators up to each state. Obama didn’t have anything to do with it. Take it up with your Governor.

And, NO, they did not all have criminal charges. As evidenced by:

“A hit in the NCIC does not necessarily reflect a criminal conviction. The database can include, for example, arrest records and criminal cases that were dismissed or led to an acquittal, according to the FBI.”

Of the ones, that DID have charges, the ranged from “domestic violence to aggravated battery, and aggravated assault, drug charges and child abuse to name a few.”

You neocons really need to learn how to read.

No, Libby – I think it’s you who doesn’t know how read. The ones who did have the charges should have been enough said. And to quote BHO – PEROID.

You must be a blast to live with. I really do feel sorry for your husband.

So someone with a teenage marijuana conviction 30 years ago should be denied gainful employment according to you? Well, OK. Then don’t bitch when they’re on government assistance because they can’t get a job.

If its a Juvie record, its sealed at 18… At least in IL.

Record may be sealed, but unless file is expunged, it could still show up as a hit on the database.

True on that point. A misdemeanor usually don’t have any affect on employment especially if its a Juvie record.

Anyways, read this to illustrate a point:

Its not even a true story and the libs are pissed about it. So much for free speech under ofnBama.

Fox News reported this week that IL has the 4th highest unemployment rate in the nation. The line is getting longer as we are losing 1500 jobs with Office Max pulling out. Sears has announced they are closing the Flag Ship Store in Down Town Chicago. No number of how many employees are losing their jobs.
The reason for the high unemployment rate was two fold. State Farm has not announced how many people will be unemployed after they execute their pull out. Manufacturing in particular was the hardest hit industry as plants continue to move out of state due to high property taxes and out of this world high Workers Comp insurance. More Short Sited ness on behalf of the Gov. When he passed Workers Comp Reform he completely ignored Tort Reform.

    Sound familiar?
