And yet another win for marriage equality and equal rights! Now, Virginia really is for lovers.

This whole gay thing is silly. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against gays as long as they stay in the closet. It’s a matter of choice that one chooses to engage in sex with a same sex partner. There is no difference between a gay man and a heterosexual man except the gay man chooses to have sex with his own kind. It’s called bad behavior. I just don’t get all this equal rights BS.

Dude, you’re in the minority now. Get used to it. The closet is soon to be a thing of the past.

Sally Ann – you truly aren’t in the majority, you just make more noise. Queers (gay should never have been changed to include men and women who indulge in sodomy, etc.) should stay in the closet and stay away from straight people and especially young people. They are a blight on our society. Send them all to Austin or San Francisco and put a fence around the perverted cities. Sickening.

Ok excuse me but that is some power trip right there.

Being in the minority is not a reason to wail on someone. Just because you view yourself as progressive does not give you the right to say someone is in the minority and therefore is wrong.

You would have been a racist back in the day. No doubt about it.

Don’t go with trends. Be your own person!

      Guru,

So, you are K wuith gays as long as they act like you. Is that what you are saying?

Do you have any scientific proof that being gay is a choice?

I am for freedom and liberty for all law abiding Americans. Where do you stand?

Wow. That’s some serious hate going on here. While I will acknowledge they have the right to their opinion, I am saddened that they spew so much hate out loud.

There is no hate from me my friend. I have several gays in my family and I love them very much it’s just the bad behavior. What they do in their bedrooms doesn’t bother me at all. But it does bother me how they want special privileges for their bad behavior, it’s ridiculous.

How is it “special privileges”? And what “bad behavior”? Human rights apply to ALL humans, even the ones you don’t like.

Up until recently a business owner had the right for any reason to refuse service. Now we are seeing business owners being sued for refusing to serve a gay couple, that is being treated special.

News flash – that “bad behavior” takes place in hetero bedrooms, too. And, it’s not a choice. Did you choose to be hetero? You can find homosexuality in all sexually active species in the animal kingdom. Just because you think it’s icky doesn’t mean they should be discriminated against. Exact same arguments were made against interracial marriages. You really want to go back there? Nothing ridiculous about love, Guru. It’s at the heart of the very meaning of life. Just ask Jesus…who…by the way… never said anything about homosexuality. Odd that the Son of God, upon Whom a religious philosophy is based, never mentioned a word against it.

Great Post Captain! I would truly like to hear what “The Guru” & “Perplexed” opinions are (or used to be) about interracial marriages because I truly believe that anytime someone is against, argues against or is derogitory against any topic that has to do with race, color, creed, religous beliefs or sexual preference among consenting adults is someone who is truly a racist and/or a bigot in the truest sense. These are the people who perpetuate bigotry and hatred and create unnecessary divides among us. These are the same people who most likely opposed the civil rights movement. These are the types of issues that politicans should be using the “what difference does it make?” comment.

Gay folks already have human rights. They are seeking special protection as though they are a race. Homosexuality is not a race, it is a choice.

It’s not special protection. The constitution gives ALL US citizens equal protection under the law. Doesn’t matter if they are male or female. It doesn’t matter what race they are. It doesn’t matter if they believe in one god or many or none. It also doesn’t matter who they love.

      Get over it.

If you are sick of gay people complaining that they are treated differently, then stop treating them differently. When is the last time we saw an African-American civil rights march?

Until it can be proven that being gay is a choice, not someone’s opinion, they must be granted the same rights under the law.

    it is not that complicated.

I don’t care if it’s a choice or not a choice. They deserve equal rights under the law. Period. Move on.

I have no issue with the Government recognizing a legal union with 2 individuals of the same gender what I have an issue with and always will is calling it marriage. I say amend the Government saction of the union to a civil union and let the religious ceromony be called what it is “a marriage”. For all of recorded history marriage has always been the union of one man to one woman and nothing else. If the homosexual community wants equal rights and by the way they do deserve them then let’s make it easy with a civil union with all rights and responsibilties for all.
