As I have said about other articles on Lyft and Uber… Big money looking to create an unnecessary service in order to take it public and then cash out. No taxi driver in this country is getting rich. I will patronize the regular taxies. These “other” drivers do not have to pass a physical, they do not have to be trained in CPR (and pass the class), they do not have uniform standards, the insurance in questionnable, they do not have to take their vehicles in for safety and cleanliness inspections at least once a week. What a racket these Uber & Lyft drivers have. Does the government think these drivers are REALLY going to pay their FICA and Federal taxes?! Then Uber & Lyft let their drivers know when a big event is taking place so all their drivers can rush over and try to get the business (like a flash mob) – the very business that sometimes helps a cabbie make the difference between paying his/her bills or not. No thank you.

Fine. If you don’t like them, then don’t do business with them. That’s how liberty is supposed to work in a market economy. But why do you want to use the power of government to prevent other free people from making voluntary exchanges that they believe will benefit them? Why can’t statists mind their own business?
