Cuomo and Christie have a better approach than the Federal Government. They should also not accept any flights from West Africa until this crises is over.

Too bad they aren’t proactive like that in Texico right Cliven?

Texico is the only state to allow someone to die from Ebola. Heck, the way that hospital responded, those vulture capitalists should be tried for neglect if not murder. I’m sure Agent believes there is a real Ebola terrorism threat, too. So, they will contract it, wait until they are symptomatic, take the hundreds of mile trek through the southern dry lands, then try to poop on innocent Americans and hope those citizens have open cuts, mouths, or perhaps another orifice. I mean, I’ve had explosive squirts, but I think they’ll just stick to the traditional way of blowing people up and won’t try the dehydrated route across the southern border like Sean InsHannity is concerned about. Are we going to put up a wall/moat filled with sharks with freaking laser beams on their heads between us and Canada now, too? Terrorism actually struck up there but I don’t hear a peep from Drudge on that side. Still concerned with the brown people down south, though. #conservadelirious

what I don’t understand is how this is even becoming a political issue. It’s already been stated that it can take up to 21 days for symptoms appear, so even though you currently don’t have any symptoms doesn’t mean that you WON’T. Doesn’t common sense dictate that you isolate yourself until after 21 days? Think about others for a change!

If you’re a nurse treating Ebola patients, YOU HAVE BEEN EXPOSED. Your moral obligation is to quarantine yourself from the rest of us in case you develop symptoms and can pass it on to others. If you have to live slightly uncomfortably for 21 days until the incubation period has passed, so be it.

I do not fault Christie or Cuomo or anyone else for wanting to enforce a quarantine which has been recommended by the CDC. If it turns out this woman DOES develop ebola (or worse, develops it and infects someone else), there will be absolute hell to pay.

I have to agree with you, Louie. I’m not sure why that nurse doesn’t want a 3 week vacation at home after being in West Africa. It’s not like you’re in prison. Does she really think everyone will be happy to see her around town? Leave it to a Mainer!

Wow, looks like we all agree.

I don’t understand why a nurse who is apparently some type of humanitarian (she did volunteer to work with Ebola patients) would want to risk infecting her friends and neighbors. Sure, she’s not contagious if she’s asymptomatic, but symptoms don’t necessarily only start when you’re at home if you don’t stay home. Isn’t that too much of a chance to take?

Jumping off the soap box, now. ;)
