Likely insurance was available, they just didn’t want to pay the needed premium and deductible. A performer can insure their legs or their fingers. Certainly this event is not that difficult to place. It’s all a function of money.
“Punkin chunkin” is a big deal in DE. I doubt the cost of the premium was the issue, especially as they were holding the event at Dover Int’l Speedway, home of the ‘Monster Mile’. I’m sure they were charging a nice sum for the event. The agent they engaged probably just couldn’t place the risk. Anyway, that’s my take on it.
Jack, there is always a market for about everything with a special event. Sometimes, it is just a matter of doing an extensive app. Usually, if admission is charged, they will make more than enough to pay the premium.
Once again the scumbag plaintiff lawyers and dumbass jurors ruin a good time for everyone.

How much pumpkin could a punkin chunkin chunk, if a punkin chunkin could chunk pumpkin?
This year we will not find out…

Joanne, if that is the case, then their agent must be a real pumpkinhead!

Heh heh heh, not this year.
