    And this is why insurance fraud is rampant in New Jersey. There is little downside risk since perpetrators typically get off with a slap on the wrist like these people. Arson and insurance fraud, yet they don’t get ANY prison time. Yet, we routinely toss people away for 3-5 for smoking pot. Crazy state.

      Silly me, I thought arson was a felony punishable by prison time, not probation.

    Just how can the judge in this case find this sentence to be appropriate for the crime. Thank goodness that no one was hurt but you can certainly bet this crime had an impact on the firefighters involved as well as the diner employee’s and other businesses in the area. What a joke probation for arson???

    I really am having a hard time understanding how this is allowed to happen. we are going to hell in a hand basket in short order.
