I know it’s bad to find that but sometimes things just happen. I’m sure it was not on purpose. $50,000? Anxiety? Really? I work in the insurance field as well, but she is just looking for a buck!!!

Seems like the bun bakery would be on the hook for this? I am sure Chick-Fil-a doesn’t make their own buns.

I agree with you, SWFL Agent. However, Chik Fil A still has the vicarious liability since the bakery is their subcontractor and they still served it. I would hope CFA has good risk management practices and solid contracts in place. They should be an AI with indemnification and hold harmless protection “baked into” their contract. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist!)

I fail to see how religion plays into this ‘rodent in sandwich’ lawsuit.

Haven’t you seen the Resistance movement protesting outside Chik Fil A Rosenblatt? The gay pride element thought they could shut them down about 2 years ago. It only served to make them more popular with the straight population.

Chipotle has been in the news several times for causing foodborne illness. I think you’re just a biased trigger-happy half-wit with a martyr complex.

He’s been quick to pounce on Chipotle, which has a history and an ongoing problem with this.

I don’t agree that this lawsuit is a result of a conspiracy against CFA, but to deny that there is a big movement against CFA due to its traditional culture (and beliefs of its owners) is also ignoring the facts.

            NC P&C,

You may be right, but I haven’t seen any furor about CFA in years since the company walked back some of Truett’s comments.

Maybe it is happening in small pockets somewhere, but certainly not on a wide scale.

Agent, why are you so hateful, cynical, and aggressive all the time? I’m sure it is everyone else’s fault, but geez, you’re unhappiness and attitude is exhausting.

Why did you think I had been banned from the site? Because you and/or Yogi requested it? I read these forums daily – I just don’t have the time available to post that you seem to. And until such time that you become the appointed monitor of the site and an employee of IJ with the ability to ban me, I will continue to read these posts daily and will not be leaving. My commentary is far less acerbic that what is seen from others.

I’m not sure I’m buying the “It only served to make them more popular with the straight population” line. Since, most straight people don’t have issue with the gay population. It’s not like they are saying, “What, gay people don’t like Chik Fil A. Well, kids, we’re all headed to get some tonight then!”

I would agree it did make them more popular with the conservative homophobes, though.

This is utterly nonsense and the kind of comment that has no place on this site.

on-topic: would the bakery’s product liability cover this, as well as CFA’s? I know that CFA eventually sold it, but they did so on the good faith of the bakery of whom they were a customer.

I love, love, love me some CFA and even if I bit into a rat sandwich, I would definitely be back the next week. LOL. The Spicy Chicken Deluxe and fries with polynesian sauce is to die for!

This isn’t a Chik Fil A problem, this isn’t a Chipotle problem, this is a fast food industry problem. Want to steer clear of situations like this, avoid any restaurant with a drive-thru window. The food industry at large could use some cleaner standards. I’ve seen too many feed mills where their rodent control is a cat. Much of the ag world is understaffed, overworked, underpaid, and aging. Corners get cut, mistakes are made, employees are disgruntled, and its no shocker rats end up in chicken sandwiches. You should learn about the amount of rodent and feathered feces allowed in your food. Mmmmm.

After that big peanut butter scare from about 10 years ago, I never looked at a jar of peanut butter ever again. Learning about the maximum allowed level of rat feces in peanut butter was shocking.

Yes, it’s disgusting. Knowing what I know has led me to local organic farms and to eating healthier in general. We just went in with our in-laws on a grass-fed cow. We don’t eat a ton of red meat, so it will last for a long time. And, all that processed grass-fed meat only comes from one cow, not thousands from a factory farm all mixed together in with feces and “pink slime”, raised hormones, corn, and other grain. Eating healthy feels good!

I went in with a few family friends on a cow, got a quarter butchered and process for about $125. Out of that, the best hamburger I have ever tasted in my life, some amazing cuts of meat and the assurance that it was locally grown, never pumped full of antibiotics, and raised and never finished with growth hormones.
