Bermuda-based PartnerRe Ltd. announced that Sir Robert Horton has chosen to retire from its Board of Directors, effective February 25, 2003, “as a result of the increased responsibility in his current capacity as Chairman of Chubb plc., the worldwide security services provider.”
PartnerRe President and CEO Patrick Thiele commented: “As a Director of PartnerRe since the Company’s inception in November 1993, Sir Robert has been an integral part of PartnerRe’s first decade. He has provided guidance and leadership, while presiding over our growth into the substantial worldwide reinsurer that we are today. I know my fellow Members of the Board join me in thanking him and in wishing him all the best in his forthcoming endeavors.”
John Rollwagen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PartnerRe added: “Sir Robert has provided tremendous support to me and the rest of the Board. I would like to personally thank him for his contribution as Chairman of the Finance Committee, which has been an important component in the Company’s success, and his counsel through the recent discussions of our corporate governance processes.”
