Arch Insurance Group, a division of Bermuda-based Arch Capital Group Ltd., announced that Norman H. Jones has been named to the position of vice president, Commercial Hull & Marine Liabilities, beginning October 15.
“In his new role, Mr. Jones will focus on developing and growing Arch’s hull along with primary and excess and marine liabilities portfolio within the marine insurance industry,” said the announcement. He will be based in Arch Insurance Group’s Philadelphia offices and will report to Vincent D. Liotta, senior VP, Global Marine and Energy.
“Norman’s expertise in the field of engineering, along with his direct and reinsurance underwriting experience brings an exciting dimension to our organization which will no doubt be advantageous for our customers. He is a skilled professional and I look forward to working with him,” Liotta stated.
The announcement noted that “Jones has 30 years experience in the marine insurance industry. Prior to joining Arch, he was vice president and manager of the Mid-Atlantic region at ACE USA. In his former role, Mr. Jones managed teams in Philadelphia and Atlanta, with a portfolio that included major cargo, inland hull and liability risks throughout the mid-Atlantic and Southeast U.S. In the 10 years prior to joining ACE he managed the treaty and facultative Marine operations for Munich Reinsurance Company in the U.S.”
