The Navigators Group, Inc. announced that Paul J. Malvasio has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Douglas Poetzsch has been appointed the group’s General Counsel and Bradley D. Wiley, has been appointed Senior Vice President, Financial Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary.
Malvasio joined Navigators in October 2003 as Executive VP – Finance and Planning. He is also Chief Financial Officer of Navigators Insurance Company.
Wiley, previously Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will continue to be responsible for corporate financial regulatory and compliance matters, as well as oversight of the Company’s investments, reporting to Malvasio. “This role is in addition to his existing responsibility as Senior Vice President and Chief Claims Officer,” said the bulletin.
Navigators announced separately, that George T. Van Gilder has retired as a Director of the group, effective December 4, 2003. He has recently accepted an appointment as Chief Executive Officer of the Toa Reinsurance Company of America, and “due to time constraints from this new appointment will no longer be able to serve on the Navigators Board.”
