Assurex Global Partners from all corners of the globe have gathered in London, this week, April 27 – 30, for a gala celebration commemorating “50 years of independence and growth.”
The worldwide grouping of independent brokers now collects combined annual premiums of $19 billion, generated by 20,000 experienced industry professionals in offices on six continents.
“In an era in which independent insurance brokers face acquisition pressure from banks and competition from publicly fashioned community-based service has paid held brokers, Assurex Global has strategically outmaneuvered the global trend toward consolidation — for half a century,” said the bulletin. “Assurex Global’s independent broker Partners — the community-based alternative to publicly traded insurance giants and financial sector newcomers — dominate local insurance markets in every major city of the globe. Today Assurex Global is the world’s largest privately held risk management and commercial insurance brokerage group.”
Assurex said its fifty years of growth represents only a part of its history. The organization is now owned by 130 independent broker Partners who “bring 6,700 years of combined professional experience to the brokerage group and its clients,” which sets Assurex apart from other insurance brokers.
“Assurex Global is proud to have reached the half century mark as a privately held corporation-a significant milestone for any business in any industry,” commented President and CEO James R. Hackbarth. ” Assurex Global’s success is a tribute to our Partners’ unwavering commitment to private ownership, including 40 Partners that have each been in business for over 100 years, several multi-generational family-run businesses, and many employee-owned brokerages.”
Assurex Global Chairman Gregory S. Belton of Partner firm Hunter Keilty Muntz & Beatty Ltd., Toronto, Ont., Canada, noted: “Assurex Global has come a long way since 1954. Today, Assurex Global Partners and their clients have the best of both worlds-local service backed by the global reach of independent Partners who are familiar with the insurance, business, and government requirements of every major city on the map.”
