Bermuda’s ACE Limited announced that its Board of Directors of has appointed Robert M. Hernandez as “Lead Director.”
The announcement indicated that this “newly-created position recognizes the responsibilities Mr. Hernandez has assumed while previously serving as Chairman of the Nominating & Governance Committee, a committee of independent directors. As Lead Director, Mr. Hernandez’s primary responsibilities are to chair the regularly scheduled executive sessions of the Board and to serve as primary contact for those wishing to communicate with the Board.”
Hernandez has been a Director of ACE since September 1985. He also serves on several boards and is Chairman of the Board of RTI International Metals, Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Blackrock Funds and a Director of the Eastman Chemical Company. At the USX Corporation, he served in various capacities from 1989 through 2001, including Vice Chairman, Director and Chief Financial Officer.
