Bermuda-based White Mountains Insurance Group has announced decisions taken at its Annual General Meeting of Members, held on October 21, 2004.
“Members, by a majority vote of at least 96 percent of the shares voting on each proposal, voted to:
– elect Edith Holiday, Bruce Berkowitz, Steven Fass, Lowndes Smith and Joseph Steinberg as Class I Directors with terms ending in 2007;
– ratified the appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers as the Company’s independent registered public accounting firm for 2004; and,
– approved each other proposal to elect directors of certain of the Company’s subsidiaries as presented to the meeting.
President and CEO Ray Barrette commented: “We are extremely pleased and gratified with the support our owners have shown us by their vote. We will continue to strive to achieve results worthy of their confidence and continued support.”
