Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd., a Bermuda-based provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, announced the appointment of Brendan O’Neill to its Board of Directors.
O’Neill was chief executive officer of ICI PLC, a specialty chemicals company, from 1998 to 2003. Prior to joining ICI PLC, O’Neill was managing director of Guinness Brewing Worldwide from 1993 to 1998, where he is credited with rebuilding the Guinness business and reestablishing its brand image on a global basis.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, O’Neill held numerous finance roles early in his career at Ford Motor Company, BICC Ltd. and Midland Bank PLC (HSBC). O’Neill currently serves on the boards of Tyco International Ltd. and Rank Group PLC.
