In a separate announcement the ACE Tempest Re Group, the global reinsurance operations of the ACE Group of Companies, announced that James Wixtead has been appointed CEO of ACE Tempest Re USA, ACE’s Stamford, Connecticut-based reinsurance subsidiary.
Wixtead succeeds Jacques Bonneau, who was recently named head of the ACE Tempest Re Group (see related article). He will be responsible for ACE’s traditional and non-traditional property and casualty reinsurance business in North America. Prior to his appointment, Wixtead served as Sr. VP of ACE Global Reinsurance.
“We are very pleased to appoint Jim to oversee our reinsurance business in North America,” Bonneau stated. “He is a technically skilled professional with proven decision-making ability who can create and sustain business opportunities for our U.S. reinsurance franchise.”
Wixtead has served as Sr. VP since he joined ACE in April 2000. Prior to joining ACE, he held a number of senior assignments with Gerling Global Corporation of America, Constitution Reinsurance Corporation, and General Reinsurance Corporation.
