Clive Tobin, chief executive responsible for XL Capital Ltd.’s insurance operations, announced the appointment of Eileen McCusker as the new chief operating officer for the UK and Ireland.
She has been with the XL group for 15 years and will assume the post immediately. McCusker replaces Dermot O’Donohoe who is now heading XL Insurance’s Specialty Operations. She will report to XL Insurance COO David Duclos.
XL said: “Prior to her new position, Mrs. McCusker was UK Branch Managing Director and Deputy CEO for the UK and Ireland with management responsibility for Scandinavia and South Africa. She was appointed in September 2002 as Managing Director of XL Insurance’s UK operations. Before this, she was Regional Property Underwriting Manager for the UK, Netherlands, Scandinavia and South Africa.”
Duclos commented: “Eileen has held a number of senior level positions within the XL group over the years, and I believe that her experience has prepared her well for this role. She will work closely with our senior management team to continue our strategic commitment to be a leading global market for the Property, Casualty, Professional, Specialty and Excess and Surplus lines of business. I look forward to working with Eileen as we continue to build out our insurance operations in the UK and Ireland.”
