Aon Corporation announced that it has formed a global partnership with Netherlands-based Unilever to serve the needs of its business lines worldwide. “The agreement enables Unilever to approach its buying through the services of Aon’s core strengths — risk management consulting, insurance brokerage and human capital benefits consulting,” said the bulletin.
“This collaboration and integrated approach clearly demonstrates the significant depth and breadth of resources that Aon can bring to a major organization such as Unilever,” stated Steve McGill, chairman and chief executive officer of Aon Risk Services.
The three-year contract empowers Unilever to leverage Aon’s relationships with the marketplace by pooling all local insurance and employee benefits together with core global programs, thereby allowing Unilever to reduce dependency on its own capital as well as benefit from bulk-buying opportunities and service efficiencies around the world.
Pascal Visee, group treasurer for Unilever, explained: “It’s obviously prudent to have a practical and well-organized approach to risk management. An arrangement like this helps enable us to keep our business simple, whilst leaving experts like Aon to deliver our insurance and benefits needs worldwide and ensure compliance with all corporate governance standards.”
