The Willis Building, a landmark new London headquarters for global insurance broker Willis Group Holdings, will be officially opened today, July 21, by His Royal Highness, The Duke of York, otherwise known as Prince Andrew.
Designed by Foster + Partners, Willis’ new London headquarters, at 21 Lime Street in the heart of the insurance district opposite Lloyd’s of London, won the 2007 New City Architecture Award for its unique architectural form and contribution to the streetscape and skyscape of the city.
More than 1,500 local dignitaries and Willis Associates are expected to be in attendance to watch the official opening of The Willis Building.
In addition to Prince Andrew, those in attendance are to include Lord Levene, chairman of Lloyd’s; Joe Plumeri, chairman & CEO, Willis Group and Grahame Millwater, president, Willis Group.
