Zurich Financial Services Group has appointed Paul Schiavone (40, US citizen) to the position of Global Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for Global Corporate, with immediate effect.
He will be responsible for developing and implementing the global strategy of the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) unit for Global Corporate. The unit, created in 2007, “analyzes needs and offers customized insurance solutions for customers going through a merger, acquisition or divestiture,” said Zurich.
In addition to his new duties, Schiavone will continue to serve as Zurich’s Global Corporate Chief Underwriting Officer of Directors & Officers liability and Employment Practices Liability Insurance for all countries outside North America. He will be based in the UK and will report to Mario Vitale, CEO Global Corporate.
Schiavone joined Zurich in 2006. He has more than 13 years of experience in the insurance industry and financial lines, working previously with American Wholesale Brokerage in San Francisco and American International Group in both New York and France. He graduated from Seton Hall University, USA and holds a law degree from New York Law School.
