Anand joins Torus from CNA Insurance Company where he was Senior Vice President responsible for CNA’s $3 billion global commercial insurance division. He formerly headed the New York region for Chubb Insurance Company.
Tobin commented: “The US commercial insurance market is by far the largest and the appointment of our US Chief Executive is a critical one.” He added that Torus was fortunate to have acquired an executive of Anand’s “ability and experience,” and expressed confidence in his leadership.
Anand noted. “We have very ambitious plans for Torus in the US. In addition to our New Jersey and Chicago offices we will be establishing offices in Atlanta, Houston and on the West coast before year-end. I am excited by the prospects of what we can build and delighted that I can have a major influence in shaping our US development from the beginning.”
