The Bermuda-based Max Capital Group has appointed David Kalainoff as President of Reinsurance Operations. He joined Max in 2003, most recently serving as Managing Director Reinsurance and Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer, Casualty Reinsurance of Max Bermuda.
Kalainoff has 30 years of casualty underwriting experience, most recently with Transatlantic Reinsurance Company in New York, where he served as Senior Vice President of Specialty Casualty. Prior to joining Transatlantic in 1996, he held management positions at Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and Continental Insurance Company. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education from Arizona State University and an M.B.A. from DePaul University.
Chairman and CEO W. Marston (Marty) Becker noted that Kalainoff has been a “longstanding and valued member of Max’s senior leadership team and is well equipped to assume management responsibility for all of the Group’s reinsurance activities outside of Lloyd’s.”
