Those private sector companies involved will make pledges to “participate in a scheme to help lift 50 million people out of poverty over the next 10 years,” Swiss Re said.

Participate in a “scheme”? This sounds a bit shady to me. Is this to help the people or bilk them out of something? A better word would have been ‘plan’ or ‘program’ or even ‘venture’, but scheme? Of course there are the diamond and the oil laden properties in Africa. I suppose it doesn’t matter as long as it’s a way for the rich get richer!
