If they got rid of those management types that made the predictions & kept the “support roles” in place. Wonder how much they would get from the sale of Willis Tower?
I also was a little taken aback when i saw a comparison of the cheap labor areas for Willis.We are now literally competing with 3rd world countries to provide the cheapest workforce available globally.This fact truly represents the real standard of living for many American workers.But the good news for the American worker is that his view of reincarnation is one life-death.The Mumbai worker however must …..well you know.
Reality, the brain drain has been going on with AIG as well. Uncle Warren has made off with several top executives and I have seen other articles with AIG people moving to other companies. I would imagine the culture of AIG is not attractive for many.
Hi FFA. I saw a study this morning that NY is the most unfriendly place to do business in the country and Illinois is right up there behind them. Those Blue State liberals are sure to run off more business with their taxes, overbearing regulation and cost of living.
So KY, being fond of a city is a good reason to move to it? Are you saying your opportunities in KY are not attractive enough to stay. If I were living in Dallas and said I was fond of Ft Worth, that doesn’t mean I would pick up and move there.
Maybe Willis shouldn’t be complaining about taxes and realty costs. They should really do some internal soul searching. They are slow to respond to quotes and provide bare minimum service.
These companies have every right to look at their expenses. Nissan moved their US operation from LA to Tennessee. Toyota moved from Torrance, Ca to DFW metroplex. State Farm is expanding their already large DFW office to be a major hub. Blue States are very unfriendly to business. No wonder they are leaving the high tax, high regulation states.
Some companies have tried the call center routine with foreign employees who barely speak English. One of mine did that and after 10 minutes on the phone not understanding anything they said, I asked to be transferred to an American supervisor. I told that supervisor it might be better letting Americans handle business instead of someone from Mumbai that knows nothing.

Are you saying that the Willis employees in the Chicago tower is not providing quality service now? I don’t use them so I don’t know how they are.
Willis is doing what they need to do to compete. We are all guilty of wanting better cheaper stuff – that is why company’s like Wal*Mart are doing so well. Willis definitely needs to have more producers in their profit centers however – they cannot and will not grow with out that aspect of the business getting some sunlight. Just holding on to what you’ve got and hoping it stays the same is not a way to do business.
