And if Global Warming was real it would be a real problem too! (Don’t say climate change, everyone knows it changes, only those arrogant enough to believe they can project it call it Climate Change!)

We have had a number of discussions on this subject over the years. We have the Al Gore side who said the polar ice caps would be gone by 2014 using failed scientist figures and the other side who say they are all “hot air” with their projections. A recent article said the caps are actually thickening which really flies in their face.

Agent – for the umpteenth time, please remember there are two polar ice caps on this planet and we must look at the levels of both the Antarctic and Arctic ice caps before accurately saying if the earth’s ice caps are either increasing or decreasing. Hint – they are decreasing.

The ice caps aren’t thickening. At some times in year they have been wider than expected, but significantly thinner, meaning there is less volume and less ice. Climate change conspiracy theorists grab onto every study confirming their predetermined beliefs, and explain away the other 99% of studies, e.g. the recent study showing less loss in the Antarctic, which was done with old data, and satellites that cannot do 3d measurements.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

If you think Lincoln would be a Republican now you are nuts. The Republican Party he was in ceased to exist when they embraced racism, and changed even more when the Southern Democrats, aka the Dixiecrats switched parties to join the GOP, largely due to their disagreement on integration and equal rights for Blacks.

I am sick of reading all this nonsense.
When they start using real, live data as opposed to manipulated computer modeling, I will start listening.
They can’t even predict the weather for tomorrow correctly, notwithstanding all the modern equipment they have available.
I laugh when they say things like ” this is the hottest day on record…….since 1932″….well I guess if it happened in 1932 then man must have been really, really bad then too!!

The data is “real, live” data, whatever …that means. You know by definition all time-series data is not “live”, because it is looking at something over a period of time, right?

They are very good at predicting weather tomorrow, the problem is that dolts like you and Agent don’t understand statistics, or what a 50% chance of rain means.

“I laugh when they say things like ” this is the hottest day on record…….since 1932″….well I guess if it happened in 1932 then man must have been really, really bad then too!!”

Yeah, but it wasn’t warmer every day for decades, and continuing to warm. That is the difference between variance and an outlier.

    1. Climate has been changing since time immemorial and will go on changing forever no matter what, mainly in line with solar influences.
    2. Scientific evidence abounds that beyond a certain level of carbon in the atmosphere, there is no increased warming. Water vapour in the atmosphere has a warming effect many times greater than that of carbon.
    3. To suggest that climate change is anthropogenic is codswallop. To suggest that arthropods have the power to stop the change is even more ludicrous!

You do realize that when the industrial revolution started, we were in a mini ice age. A mini ice age is defined as having temperatures 3 degrees below global norms. So you are saying since that time, we have only gone up 1 degree. That means we are still 2 degrees below global norms.

Our President is about as right on Climate Change as he is on radical Islam. He said he had the “B” team contained and they still managed to pull of the worst attack since 9/11 in Paris. The other leaders in the world seem to be getting it now, just not him.

Many new scientists are now predicting the start of a new mini ice age around 2030 due to sun activities. Any volcanic activity seems to negate anything man does to limit C02. These climate change people are really dufuses and the President is the worst of the lot.
