Ironshore Bolsters War & Terrorism Offering in Asia Pacific with Hill Appointment

March 9, 2016

Ironshore International announces that James W. Hill has been named underwriting manager of Terrorism, Political Violence and War for the Asia Pacific region.

Hill, who joins Ironshore from Willis Ltd., will be based in Ironshore’s Singapore office, reporting to Hui Yun Boo, managing director Asia Pacific. He is charged with establishing Ironshore’s presence throughout the region for this specialty line of business.

Hill has 10 years’ experience in the war and terrorism insurance sector, having served with Willis Ltd. since 2007, initially as a broker in the London office within the Global Markets International and Global Energy divisions.

Since 2011, Hill has been based in Singapore and, most recently, served as part of Willis’ Singapore management as an executive director of the Willis Asia Group. As head of Crisis Management for Willis in Asia, Hill built the company’s terrorism model and expanded its use across selected product lines, including kidnap & ransom, accident and health and product recall within the Asia Pacific market.

“James will oversee the development of Ironshore war and terrorism product offerings throughout the region in line with growing our regional footprint,” stated Boo.

She added that Hill’s depth of “expertise and established industry relationships will enable him to build an experienced team of underwriters” and enhance Ironshore position within the specialty lines area.
