With the development of automation (and the rigidity that presents) together with the ever-tightening industry regulation, isn’t the place for free-thinking technical insurance people becoming slowly but surely obsolete? Compliance rules over flair. Standardized data capture rules over flexibility.

Because of that, you don’t need experienced underwriters or knowledgeable claims technicians for most of the work but you DO need them for the exceptions, if indeed you want to entertain whatever fits outside your company’s box.

Today, we’re all moving down this road, albeit at different paces. Weren’t we saying the same thing back in the 90’s about cell phones?
