An investigation by Cincinnati police culminated in the sentencing of Vincent Denittis, a chiropractor who lives in Cleveland, to two years of probation and the payment of sizeable fines stemming from his activities in the Cincinnati area.
According to a report from News Channel 5, Denitiis was found guilty of having grossly inflated the charges he made to patients he treated in order to bilk insurance companies “for thousands of dollars.” His patients were apparently unaware of the added charges, and many testified against him at the trial.
Part of his activities involved staging a car accident in order to make a false insurance claim.
The Ohio State Chiropractic Board is considering launching its own investigation of Denittis, in order to evaluate whether he should be allowed to continue to practice.
