Jacobson Executive Search has placed Robert McNichols as the vice president of internal auditing and compliance at RLI of Peoria, Ill. This announcement brings an end to the nationwide search undertaken jointly by the specialty lines insurance carrier and the Chicago-based national executive search firm that serves the insurance, financial services and related industries.
Illustrating RLI’s commitment to corporate governance, accountability and integrity, the newly created role holds full responsibility for creating and implementing a comprehensive system of controls, measurers and standards to safeguard RLI. Reporting directly to Jonathan E. Michael, RLI’s President and CEO, McNichols will serve as the organization’s trusted advisor and financial guardian.
McNichols joins the publicly traded “A” excellent-rated property and casualty insurance group with over 20 years of audit expertise. In his most recent position, he served as Assistant Vice President, Internal Audit of CNA Financial of Chicago. McNichols’ background in the audit function for the property and casualty sector includes roles within Penn National Mutual Casualty Insurance and ING Group. McNichols received his bachelor’s degree at Marquette University of Milwaukee and his master’s from the University of Minnesota, Minn.
