The boards of directors of Columbus, Ohio-based State Auto Financial Corp. (STFC) and State Automobile Mutual Insurance Co. elected Matt Mrozek and John Couger assistant secretaries of the State Automobile Mutual and State Auto Property/Casualty companies.
Mrozek is an actuary in the Actuarial Services Department and joined State Auto in 1990 as an actuarial technician. In addition to his actuarial duties, he assumed responsibility for State Auto’s ceded reinsurance business in 2002. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Westminster College and became a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society in 1998.
Couger was recently appointed bond underwriting manager at State Auto. He joined the companies after more than 20 years in management positions with other major bond underwriters, including USF&G and Reliance/Travelers. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting from the University of Detroit.
