Itasca, Ill.-based brokerage giant Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced the acquisition of London-based Connor Hale Kerslake Ltd. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. It is Gallagher’s 13th acquisition in 2003.
Formed in 1995, Connor Hale Kerslake is a Lloyd’s wholesale broker that places liability insurance risks in the London insurance market. They specialize in employers, public and products liability business for their corporate and independent broker clients in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Christopher McHale, Stephen O’Connor, Wesley Kerslake, Adrian Butler and their staff will continue in their current London location as a separate operation under the direction of Brian King, managing director of Arthur J. Gallagher (UK) Ltd.
CEO J. Patrick Gallagher Jr. said the acquisition would expand the brokerage’s presence in the British and Irish marketplace. Gallagher does business in more than 100 countries around the world.
