Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based auto insurer American Service Insurance Co. (ASI) has appointed Tom Ossmann its president and CEO. Ossmann had served as chief operating officer of ASI and has been with the company for nearly 14 years, holding various positions in underwriting, operations analysis and management.
ASI, a subsidiary of Kingsway Financial Services, writes nonstandard personal and standard commercial auto insurance in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Ohio. Ossmann replaces as CEO John Clark, who has been appointed president and CEO of sister company Lincoln General Insurance Co. Lincoln General specializes in insurance coverage for the commercial trucking industry as well as other commercial and personal lines products. The company also writes surety bonds.
Meanwhile, Jim Durkin, the former senior vice president of claims, has been appointed senior vice president and COO. Durkin has more than 20 years of insurance industry experience working in field operations, marketing and claims. He will administer the operational areas of the claims, underwriting, marketing and information technology.
