Insurance carriers, agencies, and producers will be able to connect with the South Dakota Department of Revenue and Regulation, Division of Insurance 24 hours a day, thanks to an agreement signed recently with a national web-based company, the Department confirmed in a release.
Under a five-year contract between the division and Sircon Corp., the agency will begin using the company’s Sircon for States web-based solution to better manage insurance regulations. South Dakota is the 16th state to sign on to the program. Although the program won’t be fully operational until May 2007, many of the division’s customers will already see improvements in the division’s customer service early next year.
Insurance Division Director Merle Scheiber says the addition of the program will help to enhance efficiency and improve customer service in his division.
“The addition of Sircon for States is part of the Division of Insurance’s ongoing effort to better serve our customers,” Scheiber said. “The Sircon system enables direct online access, allowing us to deliver online, real-time services to our customers. It will go a long way towards minimizing paperwork and eliminating processing delays.”
The service platform opens up direct online access for the first time for insurance carriers and producers to process electronic appointments, terminations, license applications, renewals, and other similar services. It also provides built-in support for enforcement case action, consumer complaints, producer data, and rate and form filing.
