Not just an adjuster, an (expletive) claims manager!! Hopefully looking for a job as dog catcher now.

The claims manager isn\’t good enough to be a dog catcher. Even stray dogs should be treated decently. Maybe a promotion to janitor at the local fast food restaurant would fit is qualifications.

Other than the curse words the carrier was correct. In most auto policies they do not cover/owe for custom paint or parts on vehicles.

Since everybody but the insurance company felt the case was a slam dunk, then either his policy had the custom modifications endorsement or the basic DID NOT exclude those items.

I agree that most standard policies don\’t cover those items, but apparently this one did. If it didn\’t, it\’s the claims managers job to explain that politely and professionally.

Even if it didn\’t, you can\’t curse at a client because they\’re making you miserable.

When you deal with customers face-to-face it\’s your job to be polite, and this claims manager was clearly unqualified for the job.

Maybe they should work at a government agency. I hear incompetence and rudeness are in high demand at the DMV.

Carolina Casualty Company was the insurance carrier at the time of loss, why aren\’t they mentioned in the article, as they cut the checks and obviously backed their local adjuster?

Shawn, How do you KNOW that any particular carrier was on this policy at time of loss?

I pulled up the trucking companies information on the FMCSA website, which lists all insurance carriers that the insured was with, including the dates of coverage.

Shawn, That\’s fine, but that website is referencing the liability carrier of record. This was a physical damage claim. Also, what date did CCIC cancel their filing? What is the DOL?

Check the WI court access website and see who JFK Trucking Inc filed suit against in 2003. Then come back here post your findings.

A little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing.
