Schaumburg, Ill.-based Zurich announced today that Cathy Benton has been named Automobile Line of Business director for its Technical Center unit in North America. According to Gary Kaplan, chief underwriting officer for Zurich in North America, as Automobile director, Benton will manage all aspects of the Automobile Line of Business.
“It’s a privilege to have someone with Cathy’s experience and proven leadership capabilities fill this position,” Kaplan said. “In her most recent role with Zurich as Global Corporate casualty underwriting manager, she led her team in developing strategic underwriting policies and best practices. Her leadership in her new role will be invaluable as we continue to improve our auto line results.”
Benton has held field and corporate office positions with Zurich for more than 15 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in risk management/insurance and marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
