Integrity Mutual Names Kath as President; Schinler Retires

Appleton, Wis.-based Integrity Mutual Insurance Company recently named Darin L. Kath as president-designate, effective June 2.

Richard J. Schinler, current president and chief executive officer, will retire after 25 years with the company on Dec. 31, 2008. He will remain in his current position until Kath is formally approved by the Integrity Board, then serve in an advisory capacity through the end of the year.

Kath has 20 years of insurance experience, most recently serving as president and chief executive officer of Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company in Neenah, Wis. His insurance designations include an Associate in Underwriting, a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and he is a graduate of the Executive Education Program for Insurance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Kath is a licensed property and casualty agent in Wisconsin.

Schinler joined Integrity in 1983 as vice president of finance when Integrity had a direct written premium of $20.6 million and a surplus of $4.1 million. In 2007, the company reported direct written premiums in excess of $100.1 million and a surplus of $29.7 million.

During the past 25 years, Schinler helped Integrity expand its product line and footprint throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. He also played an integral part in establishing the company’s affiliation with Columbus, Ohio-based Grange Insurance. In 2001, the companies formed a collaborative partnership to leverage complementary products, resources and tools and now share an A.M. Best “A” (Excellent) rating.

Integrity Mutual Insurance Company, a member of the Grange Mutual Casualty Group, was founded in 1933 in Appleton, Wis. Integrity remains a regional property and casualty carrier offering property and liability, auto, workers compensation and umbrella coverage to individuals and businesses in Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
